Q: What do I bring to training?

Running and Games and Core Sessions

  • Training suitable clothes (Can be school uniform.)
  • Running Shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Money for cafe if your school visits the cafe (i.e Bardon Friday Morning)
  • Extra food for before or after training
  • Athlete contract signed

Bike Sessions 

  • Helmet (check it fits)
  • Gloves
  • Bike (must be serviced and tyres pumped up)
  • Protective eyewear/sunglasses that fit for riding – optional- can’t fall off
  • Water bottle/camelbak pack
  • Recommended vans/riding shoes over sneakers
  • Spare tube that fits your wheel
  • Small hand pump (if possible, coaches will also have these)
  • Bike bag (if possible, small kids bikes you can’t use these)
  • Extra food for before or after training
  • Athlete contract signed
  • Note: If your bike comes home with a waterproof tag on the bike read the label – something on it needs to be fixed!

 

Q: Where/when is my session?

 

A: You should have an email sent to you upon signing up to the session, containing all locations & drop off/pick up times. Alternatively, view our abridged version below:


BOWMAN PARK SESSIONS:

  • Tuesday Mountain Bike: 3:00pm – 4:30pm @ Bowman Park 
  • Thursday Mountain Bike: 3:00pm – 4:30pm. @ Bowman Park
  • Friday Athletics: 7:15am – 8:15am @ Bowman Park

HIGH PERFORMANCE SESSIONS:

Open to athletes from all schools.

Monday Strength & Conditioning: 4:30pm – 5:30pm @ Bowman Park Soccer Shed

Monday Sprints & Distance: 5:00pm – 6:30pm @ UQ Athletics Track

Wednesday Sprints & Distance: 5:00pm – 6:30pm @ Simpsons Falls/UQ Athletics track – depending on track/cross country season.

Sunday Sprints & Distance: 4:00pm – 5:30pm @ UQ Athletics Track


ASHGROVE STATE SCHOOL:

  • Friday Athletics: 7:15am – 8:15am @ Ashgrove Sports Ground.

BARDON STATE SCHOOL:

  • Tuesday Beginner Bike: 7:15am-8:15am @ Bardon SS 
  • Wednesday Athletics: 7:15am-8:15am @ Bardon SS
  • Friday Games & Core: 7:15am-8:15am @ Bardon SS

HILDER RD STATE SCHOOL:

  • Thursday Athletics: 3:15pm – 4:15pm @ Hilder Rd SS Oval

ITHACA CREEK STATE SCHOOL:

  • Tuesday Games & Core: 7:15am – 8:15am @ Ithaca SS Oval
  • Thursday Athletics 7:15am – 8:15am @ Ithaca SS Oval

MILTON STATE SCHOOL:

  • Tuesday Games & Core: 7:30am-8:30am
  • Wednesday Athletics: 7:30am-8:30am


OAKLEIGH STATE SCHOOL:

  • Wednesday Athletics: 3:10pm – 4:10pm @ Oakleigh SS Ovall

RAINWORTH STATE SCHOOL:

  • Monday Athletics: 7:15am – 8:15am @ Rainworth Oval. 
  • Wednesday Games & Core: 7:15am – 8:15am @ Rainworth Oval

ST JOSEPH’S: 

  • Monday Athletics: 3:00pm – 4:30pm @ St Joseph’s Main Oval.
  • Thursday Games & Core: 3:00pm – 4:30pm @ St Joseph’s Main Oval
  • Note: We will pick up Preps from the Preps area and can walk athletes to After School Care too if necessary. Just email us and let us know.

PETRIE TERRACE STATE SCHOOL:

  • Monday Running: 7:15am – 8:15am, meet outside Ithaca Pool.

 

Q: Will the sessions be cancelled if it’s raining?

A: No – our sessions are on, rain, hail or shine! We have wet weather backup locations (usually an undercover area at school) for all our sessions. You will receive communications detailing these in the event of wet weather!
