Hi everyone!
We are so excited to share that this summer we will be running a very special Straddie Holiday Adventure Camp — a personalised two-day experience designed and led by Connie and María, focused on nature, fun, friendship, movement and independence.
🗓 Dates
January 13 & 14, 2025
We will depart from Bowman Park early in the morning and drive together to Cleveland to catch the 6:00am ferry to North Stradbroke Island.
🌊 What are we doing?
Over two days, children will enjoy a full program of beach-based activities and outdoor challenges in one of the most beautiful and safe natural environments in Queensland.
🏖 Beach Sports & Adventure Activities
- Volleyball and ball games on the beach
- Kayaking in a safe and calm lagoon area
- Team challenges and movement games
- Lots of time to explore, play and enjoy Straddie together
🍳 Cooking & Camp Skills
Connie will guide the kids through a fun and practical “camp-style cooking” session.
They will learn:
- How to prepare easy, protein-rich meals
- How to cook simple “not-so-healthy but delicious” camping food
- How to organise their own dinner
Each child will get involved and make their own meal — a great independence moment!
✨ Night Activities at Adder Rock Campground
We will sleep in tents at Adder Rock Camping Ground (you can check the website for photos).
Our night plan includes:
- Stargazing with a telescope
- Quiet night-light games
- Sharing stories and winding down after a full day of adventure
🌅 Wild Breakfast by the Beach
The next morning we will prepare a simple “wild breakfast” on the beach and enjoy a slow start surrounded by nature, fresh air and a bit of digital-free time.
🚗 Return
In the afternoon of January 14 we will travel back and meet all families again at Bowman Park.
💰 Cost
The full experience — camping, activities, equipment, meals, ferry, sleepover and supervision — is AUD $420 per child (all inclusive).
